☛ Is the Bible the word of God? ☚
◑ How can one answer this question when we don’t even know what Bible is.
Bible nowhere calls itself Bible. The OT doesn’t cal itself OT, the NT doesn’t call itself NT and this is the case with most of the Gospels also. The Gospels also don’t call themselves by the names with which we know them. So what actually we have is a set of Books which early Christians ‘’thought’’ to be inspired. Then going through various councils we came across the ‘’final’’ collection of Books which we call Bible.
Note – God doesn’t call it Bible.
What should be in the bible and what should be thrown out was in the hands of few selected members. Anyways CHRISTIANS are supposed to know all this. But the problem is, even after these many councils and all we still have problems with what should be in the Bible and what shouldn’t.
Let us for example take the ‘’King James Version’’ and ask a Roman Catholic Christian, ‘’IS THIS THE COMPLETE WORD OF GOD?’’. You may be expecting a ‘’YES” but the reality is that the answer will be ‘’NO”.
Similarly if we are to ask a Protestant holding the "Douay"Roman Catholic Version of the Bible aloft in my hand "Do YOU accept THIS Bible as the complete Word of God?". The answer will again be ‘’No’’.
So we see that ‘’Catholic Version’’ is not the word of God according to fellow Christians and we see the ‘’Protestant Version’’ is not the word of God according to their own fellow Christians. So the topic is actually over. Both of them aint the word of God. These are just two versions I can show you not less than 1000 versions (coz the 24,000 manuscripts differ with each other) which one or the other is not ready to accept.
