The Missionaries and the Mubaligs : New Avenues in Da'wah

by Nisaar Y. Nadiadwala on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 7:26pm

Shaikh Ahmed Deedat once said "Islam and Christianity are the ony two religions which are misionary religions. Both believe to win the hearts and the minds of the people globally." It is true even today. While , Islam marches in the West, Christianity sneaks into the east

In the early eighties Dominique Lapierre, the famous rench author wrote a book " The City of Joy ". He was referring to Calcutta, now Kolkota. The city of joy ! Why does he call it a city of joy? Because he saw the missionry inroads in slums that gave him joy.

Yes he visited Mother Teresa's head quarters. The entire story revolves around a couple who have left their European luxury and come down to stay in the dirty slums of Anand Nagar, Calcutta. For what? They are missionaries. They beleive that unless you dont stay with the poor and serve them the poor will not submit to Jesus.

The book is a handbook for Christian missionaries of Europe. Every Muslim muballig of Daw'ah should read it and see how much sacrifice the rich Christians are giving to promote Christianity in the third word. One of the person inteviewed was from American. His father owned a large luxurious island. Leaving all these branded life the young man stays in dirty slums and share his torn bed sheet with bed bugs while allowing the cockroaches to wander over his body when he slept at night. They stayed for three years !! How many of our young daee's or your dear Nisaar Nadiadwala himself, can stay for even few weeks to promote deen ?

The book gives an inlook into the activities of Mother Teresa and her band of nuns who roam in the street to help those whom normal people would get irritated to look at. They have even converted the Enuchs! The story does not end on the last page, but it continues out of the book....Dominique Lapiere donated half his royalties to Missionaries activity of humanitarians (read Christian missionaries).

In Far east India a large numbers of Muslims have become Christians. The people who have become murtad are still soft hearted and not aggressive towards Islam. They are in thousands confirms one of my friend who has just returned form Shillong. One can really talk to them back to Islam..There are hundreds of families rather thousands who have a grandfather as a Muslim the rest converted to Christianity. What are the Hyderbadi Daee's going to do ? And of course Calcutta's too? So pack up your Dawah luggage and head to Shillong, Inshallah ..
