The Qur'an and the Ahl-e Kitab
Among those verses, one which can be useful for Da'wah to the Jews and the Christians is from Surah Al Ar'af-ch 7-verse 157. Learn this verse by heart and present it to the Ahl e Kitab as and when necessary: Those who follow the Messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write, whom they find mentioned with them in the Torah and the Gospel,- He commands them for Good and forbids them from Evil, he allows them as lawful all good ,and prohibits them as unlawful all bad things, he releases them from their heavy burdens and from the yokes tied to them, so those who believe in him, honour him, help him, and follow the light (The Qur'an) which has been sent down with him, it is they who will be successful.
This verse can be practically implemented even today. Look at the verse again :
Those who follow the Messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write: Note the flow of the arguments in the verse. First it declares that the Prophet is unlettered, and then it shows about the mentioning of his in the sacred scriptures of the Jews and the Christians even today. Then it further moves ahead informing about the Prophet's obligations on the western society even today. Finally it commands them not only to believe in him but also to honor him, help him and follow the Qur'an which is sent down along with him. The verse ends with a guarantee of success to those who implement the verse.
Whom they find mentioned with them in the Torah and the Gospel- I dont need to elaborate about his prophesis in the books of the Ahl e Kitab.
He commands them for Good and forbids them from Evil, he allows them as lawful all good ,and prohibits them as unlawful all bad things. Analyse this part of the verse in today's context. On one hand the western nations are celebrating infinite liberation where many harmful social evils are being approved by the respective governments. In US having more than one wife is an offence but having multiple girlfriends and out of wedlock relations are cheered.
He releases them from their heavy burdens and from the yokes tied to them. One does not have to hire any marketing fellow to research out what burden they carry and which yokes have the western civilizations put around their own neck that the Qur'an offers them to release even today. Look at the interst based economy's statistics The problem is massive. In 2010, nearly a third of federal spending was borrowed. The Federal government spent about $3.5 trillion total. Of that, $1.3 trillion was deficit spending or borrowed money. (Source: CNN Political News,January 3rd, 2011) Guess the amount of Interest to be payed on this borrowed money! US has been an instrument in spreading the interest based economy in the developing Nations. The debt of US will keep on increasing untill they give up Interest. This is how The unlettered Prophet's teachings will help the super graduates of Havard, Cambridge, Oxford ........
So those who believe in him, honour him, help him, and follow the light (The Qur'an) which has been sent down with him. Study this part of the verse . It asks not to make cartoons of Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) , but believe in him and respect him. Shut off all the websites in the west that run obscene allegations on the character of a man whom they have never met, nor seen but he brought to them solutions for their problems even in the 21 st century.
It is they who will be successful. Marks the end of the verse
