Land Marks of the Last decade : The Power Houses of Ummah

 Many Muslims have contributed in a remarkable manner to the welfare of the community and humanity in general through spreading the fragrance of Islam. If asked, I have my own list of those landmarks that have irrected  huge opportunities for the Muslims in past ten years. I cannot for sure  claim who is the  best among them so I am putting them in my own (Dis)order:

 Darussalam Publishers was known to very few Saudi returned Muslims till 2000 until all of a sudden it flooded Islamic books stores, Masjids, Libraries, homes.. with the translations of  Qur'an and other books. I am told that the titles have out reached 2000plus, in scores of languages. In 1999 I got my first copy of Muhammed Mohsin khan's translation published by them and it was a priviledge to be those few people in Mumbai who possessed it. Now thousands of homes in Mumbai alone have sahih al Bukhari. I know of many college students who have purchased Summarised Bukhari from theirpocket money. Last year when I visited their office in Riyadh I met the main person Abdul Malik Mujahid who told me that they are planning to come out with masterpieces in Arabic language translated into Urdu, English, Spainish..... I suggested them Fat'hul Bari, a dynamic  book by Hafiz Ibn Hajar

Peace TV is only six years old but it has shot up like a giant in a very short span. It looks like a tower over looking at the community from many aspects. More than 150 Islamic scholars appear on Peace TV and share their knowledge with the masses. A channel that runs not only on the generosity  of the Muslims but also on their love affection and prayers. No advertisments, no beautiful girls, no yellow news.. just bearded people, covering their entire body appearing in program after program and glueing your attention, competing with Star news,  BBC, CNN grabbing away  a mass chunk of their viewership. It runs along with world famous channels in the track of viewership. Dr Zakir Naik performed a Fard e Kifaya on the behalf of the Ummaespecially when bashing Islam in media has been a luctrative career in media.

www.islamqa.com began with only few hundred clicks and a few hundred Fatawas and it has journeyed  in almost all the  isues of Islamic Juriprudence in just ten years. A remarkable acheivement. Shaikh Saleh al Munajjid and his team really deserves a special  supplication from the ummah for providing them the minute details of  Islamic rulings through the fatawas of great ulema of this Ummah including Ibn Taymiya, Shaikh Albani, Shaikh Bin Baa,z Shaikh Uthaimeen........It has helped to  save many marriages into divorces by providing the correct methods of divorces and how it can be avoided.Wonderful topics and questions that teaches Islam. A wonderful site.. If you have not visited it then you are not updating yourself with the  fatawas on latest issues too!

 The Islamic University Madina . If you are from Madina's Islamic University then you are man of knowledge. It has become a trade mark of authenticty. From graduation in Hadith, to Mastery in Arabic language, or Shriah, this university provides excellent opportunity to learn. Noted scholars like Shaikh Albani, Uhtaimeen.. had been among the faculty. Just have a look at the products.. Dr Bilal Philips, Hussain Yee, Yasir Qadhi, Dr R. K. Noor......The University continues to flourish with thousands of  students scattered in hundreds of countries correcting the creedof Millions of Muslims. 

The Global Daw'ah Seminars were not heard so loudly before eleven years. The Tableeghi jamat used to have their seminars once yearin selected cities and the Nadwatul Mujahid did their seminars in Kerela, whereas the rest of the  Muslim crowd assembled only for Jumah and Eid prayers. Now! Almost all Indian cities have young energetic dawah centers holding seminars and  inviting Non Muslims too to attend them. Dawah seminars have become global affairs now. With more and more Non Muslims declaring their entry into Islam in large numbers in open auditoriums aioredon sattelie channels, youtubes.... Da'wah is the 'in thing' for the Muslim youth as the popuarity of Da'wah orators have over taken most of the

Al Huda has revived Islam among educated Muslims females. Dr Farhat Hashmi not only made the Muslim girls feel proud in wearing hijab but also revived the hijab industry through out Pakistan. Today Farhat Hashmi and her al Huda have become a household name among the educated Muslimah .  I am told that she has even given a tafseer of Sahih Bukhari as she has done the Tafseer of Qur'an. Can some one update me on that?
